Northwest Treasure Hunter's Club 32nd Annual Idaho Hunt
By Donna Shape
Twenty seven of us enjoyed the trip to Idaho to attend the NWTHC's 32nd Annual Hunt at Farragut State Park the weekend of June 18-20th. The weather was great. Friday night they tried something new and put on a water hunt. Those participating really enjoyed it. Matt Mechler and Mark Jenkins both won metal detectors and gold coins and John Shape won a $50.00 gift certificate to a Rock and Gem Shop. Lucky winners in the raffles were Lois Richards who won an afghan, and Matt Mechler won the 50/50 drawing and ended up with $50.00. There was a special drawing for the Father's on Father's Day. Tom McKee's name was drawn and he won a Club silver round. Placing in the top ten in various hunts were Pam McKee, Doris Sipila, Mark Jenkins, Matt Mechler, and Dennis Walker in the Lone Ranger Open, Pam McKee, Dennis Walker, Mark Jenkins, and Matt Mechler in the Treasure of the Sierra Madre Open, Doris Sipila, Pam McKee and Matt Mechler in the Lord of the Rings Open, Pam McKee, Doris Sipila, Matt Mechler and Mark Jenkins in the Goldfinger Hunt, Jennsyn Chaney in the Juniors and in the International Hunt Matt Mechler came in 1st. Mark Jenkins represented our club in the club trophy hunt. Mark and Matt both took part in the Pro runoff and Mark placed 1st in the men's division but lost out to Kathy Schaeffer from the Spokane Club in the final runoff. We all had fun and enjoyed visiting with old friends from the other clubs.
