Summer Picnic
Date: Aug. 4th 10:00am
Location: Lake Wilderness park, in the Maple Valley area
Cost: $2 U.S. change & a $5 gift
(The gift is not required for non-hunters but it is recommended. All gifts will be used either in the 2nd hunt or in the raffle at the end).
The idea of the picnic is to bring our members together for a little fun, games, and treasure hunting. We will have 2 hunts, at least 2 strange games, a twisted scavenger’s hunt (rules announced at site), and the most important of all—a potluck lunch.
If you come early, you can do some metal detecting or start the scavenger’s hunt. Then depending on the time, we will either start the 1st small hunt and or play a strange game; games. Our lunch will be around 12:30. Shortly after lunch, we will start the 2nd hunt and have a special drawing with tickets earned through the day. The games and 1st hunt is where you can win some tickets for a special drawing held after the end of the 2nd hunt. Tickets can also be acquired by any special tasks you perform during the entire day or even just by being in the right place at the right time. Therefore, you don’t have to be in the hunts to receive prizes. If you have to leave early, we will hold any prizes you have won with the tickets you may have received during the time you were present. Overall, the more work you do or time spent, the chances for winning a prize, prizes will increase.
• The 1st hunt we have will contain small prizes in it along with tokens for raffle tickets.
• The way the 2nd hunt will work is: you bring a gift around $5 and $2 in US currency. All of the change will be used in this hunt. The coins can be in any form you wish as long as it can be detected with a metal detector. If you wish, you can bring more change. Nobody will complain if you wish to use all silver coins but it must equal $2 dollars face value. The hunt could also be more interesting if you use your old forgotten foreign coins, rings, and any other miscellaneous items too.
Save the date August 4th and we will see you there. Be prepared to spend some time at the park and we will have a great outing.
